Federation Guild of Editors of Spain, a body representing the general interests of the English edition, is a permanent strategic move, promoting reading, saying that it is, was and remains the basic instrument to enter the world of culture, in general, and in the so-called knowledge society, in particular, and to be the main element in social and economic development of individuals and of society itself.

In this sense, the Federation of Publishers' Guilds of Spain is a sponsor and active participant in the Plan for the Promotion of Reading and, uniquely, wants highlight the essential work in favor of the reading libraries, and to this end calls the "AWARD FOR BEST INITIATIVE TO PROMOTE READING IN LIBRARIES OPEN TO THE PUBLIC", to be delivered within the framework of the International Book Fair LIBER and involve public recognition of publishing their work.

1. OBJECTIVES
recognize and highlight the work that libraries play in developing the reading habit and the transmission of an image of reading as a cultural activity, positive, helpful and pleasant.

2. TARGET
Libraries may choose all of Spain open to the public that have developed over the previous year a project to promote reading.

3. GRANT
The Award will grant a jury consisting of representatives of the National Library, the Writers' Association, the Royal English Academy of Language, the English Reproduction Rights Center, Foundation and Ruipérez Germain Sanchez of their own Publishers' Federation of Spain, who will assess the following criteria:

· Existence of new methodological approaches and strategies that contribute to the improvement of literacy skills and promote reading.
· Applicability of the experience in other libraries.
· Community involvement in the project.
· strategies and techniques to encourage reading.
· impact assessment project to promote reading through the indicators.

The jury may request reports and opinions of any person or relevant institution in the world of Books and Libraries. Its Secretary is the Executive Director of the Federation of Publishers' Guilds of Spain.

4. NOMINATIONS
Award Nominations may be proposed by the libraries themselves, other cultural institutions and the world of books, universities, etc..
Each application must be accompanied by the following documents:
